The ITS program is considered to give students a deep understanding of the fundamentals of IT and computer-based systems as well as the non-technical areas like the organizational needs of Information Technologies.

The content of the program is based on information technology and systems, as well as practical basis of computer engineering including programming, management information systems, networking, systems administration and the management of a variety of computing environments. Major courses of information technology and systems department include modern programming languages, Graphic user interface, data structures and algorithms, operating systems, networking, databases, computer and network security and etc. Electives can include such application areas as: advanced database, advanced networking, web page design and administration, intellectual systems, economics, management as well as a variety of other related areas. Through a broad set of electives, information technology and systems students will be able to take courses based on their individual preferences.

There is a great need in Azerbaijan for those who specialized in these areas. Students of Qafqaz University, besides specializing in their subjects also learn English at the highest level and hence have 100% chance of being employed by both local and foreign firms.
